Commerce-PINTS Hockey Club playing shirt (Under 17s play in the senior shirt), plain black shorts (no board shorts; no logos) or skort for Under 14 & Under 17 girls, Club socks, shin guards, mouth guard. Players will need to bring their own hockey stick.

Mouth guards and shin guards are compulsory for ALL junior players in our club.

External Purchases
  • Shin pads, hockey sticks and mouth guards – these can be purchased through the usual sporting outlets and chemists
  • Fitted mouth guards for older juniors

The NT Department of Health Dental Clinics will provide, free of charge, a properly fitted mouth guard for students, generally once they have enough second teeth. Call one of the school dental services or the Darwin Dental Clinic (8922 6466) to make an appointment. Please ask the Club for a letter confirming that your child is playing hockey as this letter will be required when attending the fitting.

What is Hookin2Hockey?

A national junior hockey development program run in various ways around Australia, Hookin2Hockey gives boys and girls 10 and under the opportunity to learn the basic skills of hockey, develop fundamental motor skills and make friends – all while beginning their lifelong love of hockey. Stay tuned to our event calendar for upcoming programs.

1. Come and Try – Introduction to the basics of hockey with emphasis on fun and involvement. Hookin2Hockey provides a welcoming environment for both the participant and their family.

2. Skills in Action – Programs for weekdays or holidays run by clubs at various school venues thoughout Darwin and Palmerston. Register through NT Hockey website.

3. Game On! – Small game sessions run once a week by clubs either individually or together at various venues. Focus is on participation and enjoyment and introducing a sense of belonging to the hockey community.

Hookin2Hockey this season

Term 1 (weeks 5–10)

For all juniors, including beginners.

FREE Come and Try event. All juniors welcome – old and new!

Term 2

For 5–8 year olds ready to further develop skills through small game sessions.

Consists of 2 sessions – game plus training:
Skills Development Training – Wednesdays 5:30–6:30 pm
Game On! – Fridays 5:30–6:30 pm (TBC)
Venues TBC.
